1st Post - Arrival into JNB, a Day in Pretoria, and a drive to the Lowveld

Welcome to South Africa!
Eight of us begin our journey through this wonderful land on Monday, October 27.
This is my TENTH South Africa tour since I started them in 2009!
It should be on everyone's bucket list.

We climbed to the top of the monument for a great view down into the interior!

We had lunch in Cafe Riche. One of the first things Nelson Mandela did after being freed from prison on Robin  Island, was to invite the judge who had sentenced him to life in prison, to coffee at Cafe Riche, and told him he held no grudge against him for doing what he was required by law to do!
The beginning of reconciliation in the 'New South Africa'.

Larger than Life! Nelson Mandela stands in front of the Union Buildings.

Flower Gardens in front of the Union Buildings and War Memorial.

Pretoria - Jacaranda City!

Jacaranda and Bougainvillea make a tremendous bouquet!
